Audits and Auditors: Can't we all just get along?
This paper describes tools and techniques to help generate value for yourself and your organization from an audit while aiding the auditor to accomplish their objectives efficiently. In the author’s opinion, a well executed audit can provide a fresh perspective on controls and processes that may generate some innovative ideas for improvement. Alternatively, an audit may just reconfirm what is already known while tying up resources that could be doing something else. This paper describes steps that can be taken to make both of these situations (and the broad spectrum in between) take less time and provide better results.
